The development of your baby
From the start of this week to the end of the twentieth week, your baby will be growing at a very fast pace. In size it will become from only 5 cm to 20 cm. to make sure this growth can take place, the blood cells produced by the placenta will become larger in both size as well as number so that the baby can receive its basic nutrition. The development of the facial features continues as the growing ears find the right position. However if you saw a picture of your baby just now it would appear to look like a genius as the size of the head of the baby would be exactly half the size of its entire body length. Even though the reproductive organs have started developing, it will be only till the end of the fourteenth week when you will be able to decipher the sex of your baby. By the end of this week, the genitals will still look the same and you won’t know if your baby is a boy or a girl.
