The development of your baby –
This is the week when your doctor will tell you that your baby is labeled as a full term baby. However that does not mean that your baby has stopped growing already. The unborn child keeps growing and accumulation of fat takes place at the rate of every half an ounce which is approximately 14 grams a day. Under normal conditions, boys tend to weigh more than girls at the time of birth. Your baby’s brains are functioning so effectively that it can actually coordinate action that the baby may carry out. It can now move its fingers, grasp with its fingers and even wave and sway his arm how much ever is possible in the constricted place. If the doctor lights a torch over your tummy from the outside, your baby is sensitive enough and would sense the light’s direction and turn towards it even while it is inside the uterus.
The development of your body –
At the end of this week there are chances that you might lose the mucous plug that had sealed off your uterus in order to protect your baby from dirt and pollution from the outside and kept it from getting any kind of infection. This mucous plug would also be lost some weeks or days or even hours before labour. The mucous plug is usually yellowish and may have spots of blood. In colloquial terms, the mucous plug is often referred to as a bloody show. However when the body begins to dilate while preparing for labour, the mucous plug gets ejected from the body. If you are experiencing any form of discharge from any part of your body just now, speak to your health care specialist immediately. Take care of your health. You will soon be delivering your little one.
