The development of your baby
By this week your baby already weighs around five and a half pounds. But during this week your baby will put on the maximum amount of weight, much more than he has all this while. From this week onwards, your baby will be gaining around eight to twelve ounces each week. Fat will be accumulating all over your baby’s body, especially around the shoulders! Since your baby is growing and increasing in size, it is obviously more cramped and restricted inside your stomach. Thus there might be a slight fall in fetal movements but now the few movements will be stronger and more forced. If your child is in the headfirst state, its head would be resting on your pelvic bone to prepare for delivery.

The development of your body

The bond you are developing with your baby already while it is inside your uterus will become much stronger once the baby is born. Bonding refers to the passionate attachment developing between two or more individuals. It may not happen instantaneously when the baby is born but may develop over a longer period of time later. Bonding does not only make you feel the need to protect your baby and give him unconditional love but it also helps to create a sense of security for your baby in the outside world which is not as closed as your womb.
