The development of your baby –
During this week the brains of your baby are still developing and it is growing nails on the toes and the fingers too! This week is the last week of your first trimester and the vocal chords of your baby are forming now. Your baby has fully functioning kidneys by now. When it swallows amniotic fluids, your baby will be able to urinate this out of his system. There is enough room in your baby’s stomach to let the intestines find place inside.
The development of your body –
You should have heard by now at least somebody telling you that you are glowing because you are pregnant. This is not only because you are happy about becoming a mother. There is a physiological reason as to why your skin looks prettier, smoother and glows more when you are pregnant. You glow like that because suddenly your body is high on blood volume and pregnancy hormones. The larger number of blood volume carries a larger amount of blood to the blood vessels and the greater number of hormones secrete a lot more oil than usual causing more smooth, plump, flushed and beautiful skin. Sometimes this excess amount of oil can also cause acne but that is usually not the case. Thus you look much prettier when you are pregnant than you think you look otherwise.
