There are a number of physical changes that you will be experiencing only while you are pregnant. This might intrigue you or get you curious. But celebrate because now is the time these changes should be welcomed because soon you will have a new gift – a baby of your own who you are already grooming in your womb. Here are discussed some of the physical changes you are bound to notice during your pregnancy.
As you have hormones fluctuating in your body due to your pregnancy, the blood vessels in your sinus and nose become bigger due to the increase in the level of progesterone. This enlarging of the cells and vessels makes your nose and sinus more perceptive to irritation. This will make your nose swell; feel stuffed without any manifestation of cold and might even cause your nose to bleed. This you will in all probability experience in your second trimester but soon be gone once you have delivered your baby if not weeks before the delivery. If you do experience a bleeding nose do not get panicky and just take care of the situation maturely. Try getting to the bathroom so you can stop from creating an unnecessary mess and sit down. Do not lie down or push your head back as that might cause you to swallow the blood and make you feel sicker. Take a paper napkin or towel or cotton swab and hold it at your nose, pinching the bridge so that the blood is absorbed. Do this for four minutes. Use an ice pack to cool the vessels and stop the bleeding.
Stretch marks begin to appear from the time you cannot even see them on your breasts, stomach, hips, and thighs during the second trimester. Almost all women get stretch marks when they are pregnant. Initially they appear red but post your pregnancy they become silvery. These marks appear when your skin stretches beyond the elasticity limit to accommodate the weight gain and growing baby in your womb. If your skin stretches gradually, the chances of incurring stretch marks in lesser. Do not ever try to restrict your intake of food to help not gaining stretch marks, you will be sinning while depriving your baby of the food it needs for highly selfish purposes. If you refuse to give yourself food while you are pregnant, you are denying your baby its share of food. But what you can do maybe is eat a healthy and well balanced diet, try exercising, a well hydrated body develops lesser stretch marks, make sure you have been taking prenatal vitamins and try using cocoa butter and moisturizer to tone your skin. That helps. However stretch marks are wonderful naturally gifted mementos of your pregnancy. Some mothers love to see them from time to time.
The hormonal changes which cause your nose bleeds are the ones that might result in bleeding gums as well. It definitely is not a happy feeling but it nothing to fear either. Just make sure you use toothpastes high in calcium and other herbal products that aid to strengthen your gums. Women also complain about having worsened eye sight during pregnancy. For most reports, the change is slight and temporary so you need not worry about it. However, it is good to be aware so have a good amount of proteins as they help to maintain good eyesight.
