Which exercises can I engage in while I am pregnant? Women are encouraged to do all normal day chores while they are pregnant and even though you should not over stress yourself it is alright for you to do the light weighted jobs that do not make you exert yourself beyond what you can handle.

Can I eat Tuna?
The more kinds of fish you eat the more kind of benefits you are gaining. You will be passing to your child a lot more nutrients than you would be doing if you planned to deprive yourself of certain food items. As long as you are not abusing your body in any way, eating is all the way healthy. Don’t stop.

I am a first time mother. How do I prepare to breast feed?
You must prepare to breast feed before you have your baby. There are breast feeding classes that are offered where those who have experienced already speak to you and books are given to you to help you understand. Attend one to learn more. They are rather helpful.

How much caffeine is acceptable?
Caffeine is best to stay away from during pregnancy though it has not been established as a harmful product yet. If you cannot do without caffeine keep your intake as low as 300 mg a day.

How do I handle morning sickness?
Keep away from strong odours that make you giddy, make a note of the food products that you do not like to eat and find suitable substitutes for them, drink fresh juices to keep yourself hydrated and clean your system, eat well and eat healthy diets, avoid foods that trigger a sense of nausea in you – mostly those that produce gas.

Can I highlight my hair?
Thought the effect of dye on an expecting mother’s hair on a baby in her womb is unknown, doctors suggest that you wait till your pregnancy is over and then try out and experiment with such things.

Can I drink herbal tea?
Though herbal tea is absolutely natural you never know how a particular herb might affect your body and during pregnancy such risks are best to avoid.

I feel like munching all the time. What can I eat in this case?
Just about anything that you like to eat and want to eat – chocolates, muffins, pop corn, bread, soup sticks, nuts, yogurt, fresh fruits, cheese and crackers, dry fruits – anything that you know you have not been allergic to.

Can I consume aspirins?
Consult your doctor before taking any form of medication. Even those that you take regularly might not be recommended during pregnancy. Do check.

Must I take extra calcium?
Excess of calcium is not a bad idea. Your body tends to feel weak and so does your bones when you are pregnant because your baby begins to consume your intake as well. Discuss with a medical expert to know if what you take already is enough or if you need to increase the dose. Much calcium will save you from back pains and other rickety feelings.
